What does it mean to participate in Bedrock’s

Guardian Program?

Being a Guardian Family for Bedrock Labradoodles is an excellent opportunity to have the Breeder’s pick of the litter as a pet. In exchange for providing a home for a Bedrock breeding dog and partnering with us while the dog is part of our breeding program, you will receive a fabulous dog at no cost.

Bedrock breeds exceptional American and Australian Multi-generational Labradoodles with ALAA registration.

We strongly believe that every dog deserves a loving forever family. We are not a kennel breeder and believe dogs do best in loving family homes.

All breeding dogs will go through initial testing close to six months of age. These tests are paid for by Bedrock, however transportation is the responsibility of the Guardian Family. In addition, there are ongoing tests that will be required. A brucellosis test is given approximately every six months, females will be required to have a series of progesterone testing done at time of heat cycle and the eye exam will be repeated at 12-18 month intervals, for the duration of the dogs breeding career. Testing is administered mainly at Newberg Veterinary Hospital. Occasionally, you will be required to travel to VCA in Clackamas or ICSB in Gresham. Guardians will be responsible for transportation to breeding. Typically this is done at Bedrock Labradoodles in Tualatin, OR.



Guardians must live in close vicinity to Bedrock Labradoodles and Newberg Veterinary Hospital or be willing to drive at breeders request.

In order to ensure safety and health there are certain requirements to qualify for our Guardian Program.



• Dog has access to fully fenced yard.
• Provide a crate for your dog to be in when unsupervised.
• Ensure that the dog is well socialized.
• Attend dog training classes
• Have dog professionally groomed every 4-6 weeks to breeders specified look. Expense will be the responsibility of the Guardian. Grooming can range from $55-$85 per grooming.
• Be willing to provide ‘breeder approved’ kibble and other dietary needs.


Female dogs go into heat every six (approx.) months. Depending on Bedrock’s breeding schedule the breeding female may be bred back to back or skip a cycle. Females are bred no more than four times and then will be retired and ownership will be transferred to the guardian.

When it is time for the female to give birth they are housed at Bedrock or occasionally another trusted breeder or qualified individual, to whelp and raise her puppies. 



At approximately six weeks post whelp, when the puppies are weaned, the female will be returned to the Guardian Family.

Males can be active in Bedrock’s program for approximately six years.
